Hiring a DJ?

Are you thinking of hiring a Disc Jockey?
The following are 6 suggestions and informative questions you should ask before you make your final decision:

~Does your DJ use professional equipment?
There is a difference between the audio equipment you have at home and the equipment a professional DJ uses.   Professional audio equipment is built to go on the road day in and day out.  Make sure your prospective choices use only professional equipment to insure the musical selections are audible for all your guests.

~Is your DJ registered, incorporated and insured?
A DJ who has taken the time to incorporate, register (according to state and local regulations) and/or insure their respective companies demonstrate that they are serious businessmen and women.

~Can your DJ provide you with a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing.  All terms of the agreement should be in writing to avoid any complications at a later date.

~Will your DJ be suitable dressed for the occasion?
It is important that your DJ look the part by dressing in formal or semi-formal attire.  Make sure to specify the type of apparel that your DJ should use.  There should be no added fee for formal attire.

~Does you DJ know the proper procedure and etiquette for your type of function?
A professional DJ will be involved with the planning of your special function and will be prepared to handle any announcements or special events on the day of your function.

~Is your DJ willing to discuss musical selections ahead of time, and is he or she willing to play requests, particularly if they are suitable for dancing?
A professional DJ is aware that they cannot possibly know everything there is about music and entertainment.  They should however, be willing to listen to your ideas and suggestions.  They should also make themselves available prior to your function to discuss selections.   Special requests should be no problem and your DJ should be willing to play them where they are appropriate.

Do You Know Jesus?

Do You Know Jesus?
If you don't know him, here's the Plan of Salvation for YOU:

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

Good works cannot save you.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."(Ephesians 2:8-9)

Trust Jesus Christ today! Here's what you must do:

1.     Admit you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"(Romans 3:23)
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)

2.     Be willing to turn from sin (repent).
Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)

3.     Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

4.     Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.
"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."(Romans 10:10)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

What to pray:
Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior and Lord.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"(John 1:12)
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."(2 Corinthians 5:17)

If you have received Jesus Christ as your Saviour, as a Christian you should:
1.     Read your Bible every day to get to know Christ better.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."(2 Timothy 2:15)
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."(Psalms 119:105)

2.     Talk to God in prayer every day.
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (Matthew 21:22)
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)

3.     Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"(Matthew 28:19)
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 Timothy 3:16)

4.     Tell others about Christ.
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
"For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16)
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)

My Nutshell Testimony

My life before I accepted Christ: I always considered myself to be a good person. I believed in God and tried to keep the 10 commandments since I had a Catholic background. I thought I was a sheep of the Lord.  I had been searching for truth in my teenage years (1980’s). I had visited many denominations and religions but determined that none of them had the right answers because they were all accusing the others of not having the truth and excluding everyone from Heaven unless they belong to their group. So I stopped going to church altogether and I decided I would follow God in my own way being good and living as good a moral life as I could.  I got married at 16, had my son right before I turned 20 and life was good for me so far.

Circumstances surrounding your conversion: On August 4th, 1993 a lady invited me to a service at her church. She was nice so I went. The preacher was talking from John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice”. She mentioned the fact that “you must be born again”. I had no clue what that meant so I deduced that I was in trouble if I was supposedly a sheep of the Lord and didn't know that fact. I felt that my life was messed up anyway. So I responded to the altar call and started weeping like a baby but felt that a huge burden was lifted off my back and like I was indeed a new born babe that needed to re-learn everything I knew about life and God.  I felt tremendous joy and peace and felt the Lord was carrying me through my marital problems of the time and the divorce that I had to endure a few years after that in 1995.

How would you describe your spiritual growth from the time you accepted Christ to today? My spiritual growth has gone from a steady high climb for the first few years after my conversion, to a “Dark Night of the Soul” plunge for another few, and back to a bumpy but certain level of maturity through having experienced God’s love, mercy and faithfulness in my life’s tough journey.  ‘I’m confident that He will finish the work He started in me’ (Phil 1:6).
